Hey, welcome to StevenBaker.com.  I’m Steve Baker and I develop web apps here in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Specifically, I serve as Engineering Manager at Stella & Dot.  Great gig.  By night, I work to create other types of awesome in the role of husband, friend, bedroom DJ, etc.

Here’s a stab at a quick life story – in a few bullet points:

The Early Days: Grew up in the Chicago area – still waiting for my Cubs to win a World Series. This is the year, right?

High School & University: Illinois Math & Science Academy – incredible place, just incredible. Then onto the University of Illinois – graduated Comp Sci in 2000. Endured many cold winter nights and a terrible football team, but the friends and connections I made were so worth it.

Professional Career: Listened to the wise advice of those friends to head west to California ASAP. They were right. Love it here. Been out here in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2000, working hard and crushing it for companies here in the Valley.

Personal Life: Met an amazing and intelligent woman, somehow convinced her to marry me (still can’t believe she fell for it), and am lucky to have everything else I need – great friends, warm weather, tasty food, delicious wine, beautiful music, and you.
